Type: Voluntary with payment of reasonable travelling expenses
About Us
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO) is a vital volunteer-led service dedicated to saving lives in the mountains of Eryri. Our team of highly skilled rescuers is on call 24/7 to assist those in need of urgent help. As a registered charity, OVMRO relies on the support of its Trustees, volunteers, and the community to continue our life-saving work. The Team undertakes around 170 rescues annually.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organised individual to support our Board of Trustees as Minute Secretary. This is a vital role within the organisation, ensuring the efficient running of Trustee meetings, maintaining proper records, and supporting governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Organising and coordinating Trustee meetings (no more than 5 meetings per year).
- Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and necessary documents to Trustees.
- Recording accurate minutes and decisions taken during meetings.
- Supporting the Chair and Trustees in administrative tasks as required.
- Act in accordance with the OVMRO Charitable Incorporated Organisation’s Constitution and Charity Commission requirements
- Managing correspondence and communication related to the Trustees.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Previous experience in administration or secretarial roles
- Knowledge of governance and legal compliance for charities is an advantage but not essential
- A proactive approach and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to liaise with individuals at all levels.
