OGGIE 8 CHALLENGE

Can you conquer eight 3000ft peaks within the Ogwen Valley in one day?

Oggie 8 2009 finish party The fourth annual Oggie 8 challenge was held on Saturday 6th August 2011. Again it was a great success and again the weather played its tricks on us. A deceptively dry start soon gave way to heavy showers through the latter parts of the event.

The event was won by team "C'est La Vie" in a record time of 5 hours 40 minutes. "John's PJs" were second and "Here for a Beer" third. But the event is not about places; it is about having a great time, enjoying the fantastic scenery around the Ogwen Valley and getting a bit wet. Here is a complete list of finish times.

Details of next year's event will be realeased in due course, but if you want to hold a fundraising event for the team you may use our on-line sponsorship system to collect sponsorship.

Thank you, as always, to all who took part and to all those involved in the organisation.

OVMRO would like to thank the following organisations for supporting the Oggie 8 Challenge:

The 2008 inaugural Oggie 8 Challenge

Oggie 8 2008 finish On 9th August 2008 the team held the first Oggie 8 challenge. The weather was truly atrocious: high winds, driving rain and extensive hill fog. Nevertheless the event was a great success. Well done and a big thank you to all who took part.
